But I don't know about online rummy because I never search for that game. It is exciting when I played rummy with my friends, and no matter if we use money or not, that will still not make the fun reduce.

Perhaps, if the online rummy is available on the gambling site, we need to adjust our knowledge or we need to learn more about the rummy game because the rule will not be the same as what we played offline. I am sure there is the main rule for the rummy game card, so we can learn from that to know how to play rummy with the other player that comes from many different countries.

I searched it on google and Rummy has different varieties depending on which country it originated from. I'll list some of them that are often mentioned on different websites.

Indian Rummy
Indian Rummy is the most played game online. It is a card game in India with little variation from the original rummy. It is a popular game that involves making sets out of 13 cards given to each of the players.

Dummy Rummy
This originated in the US and played in many parts of the world. It is a game of 2-4 players. It uses two standard decks of cards with 4 Jokers so that there are 108 cards in total. Number ‘2’ cards are treated as wild card Jokers.

Canasta
A form of Rummy that is quite popular in Spain. In this variant, there are a total of 4 jokers that are used. All the 4 jokers as well as all the 2s in the deck are treated the way wild cards are treated. Players must create melds or sets of 7 cards and go all out while playing.

Shanghai Rummy
This variant of rummy is evolved from the contract rummy variant and is believed to be originated in China and hence the name. The game play of the Shanghai rummy is simple and similar to the contract rummy. 2 decks of cards are used to play the game for 2 to 4 players. Every player in the game is dealt with 11 cards unlike the 13 cards in the Indian Rummy game.


There are also other types of rummy like Kalooki, 500 Rummy, Oklahoma Rummy, Contract Rummy, Dummy Rummy, and many more to mention. This game is not that popular in our country, and I'm now curious why it has different varieties. Where did this game really originated and why it has evolved in different types of rummy.

Interesting article! You can see it in 2 ways I think.

Investing in bitcoin is indeed more riskier than investing in stocks such as Johnson and Johnson or Microsoft and thus can an investment in bitcoin be seen as a gamble.
On the other hand, as you mention in your article, knowledge is power. I don't really see a big risk in investing in bitcoin/ethereum/... but I wouldn't buy shitcoins also.
In my environment, everybody doesn't really know anything about bitcoin and so they see it as a big gamble...

I don't think investing in Bitcoin is similar to gambling because we do not lose our money, and we can sell our bitcoin in the future, especially if the price can rise so high. Perhaps, the value of our bitcoin can decrease, but in the next day or weeks, the value can back increase, and sometimes, the price can get double from the first time we bought bitcoin. So that will not be similar or the same as gambling because we are not losing the money.

But people out there who don't know about bitcoin can easily think that bitcoin is similar to gambling because they only know that the bitcoin price can jump up and down many times, which will not be safe for them to invest in bitcoin.

Leveraged trading could be seen as gambling but I can tell you myself that buying & HODLING is the best thing you can do& is not gambling. I started buying in 2014 at $200 or something, I don’t want to talk numbers but let’s just say I bought a lot & haven’t sold much yet. If it is gambling then it should be illegal because over time you only win.

I enjoy reading the article and the comparison on why bitcoin and gambling has similarities yet different.

Bitcoin is an speculative asset but chances are you can predict the possible outcome by tracking back the market movement history and its an edge if you have a knowledge on how to make a TA. Gambling on the other side is a way to entertain ourselves while having a chance to earn. Majority of games are relying on luck and though we cant really tell the outcome of the game what makes it similar to investing in bitcoin is, it has risk and no guarantee of gaining from it.
