1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are all good sports betting tipsters insiders? on: June 09, 2025, 06:31:06 PM
How many tipsters are successful on the long run? I don't even know any tipsters in betting that is so good and win like no other bettors.
Honestly I have not seen a lot of tipsters actually gamble.

Some of them get their main source of income from tipping already and I guess they really do not trust their own tips if they don’t bet even on their own tips. The statistics they give only comes from others who have gambled relying on the tips they sold. But nothing from personal experience.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The more you nurture a strong emotion is the more you increase your risks on: June 09, 2025, 06:11:25 PM
So if I may ask, is there some worth negative potential threats in nurturing your emotions to grow stronger just so you don't panic over the outcomes on the game of luck or chances than being just concious of our gambling lifestyles?
I genuinely can’t think of a negative aspect from nurturing your emotions. Not only is it helpful in gambling but also helpful in all the other aspects of life as well. This will make you grow as an individual all around.

But it is not easy. If it was, we will all be mature and wise. It takes a conscious effort and needs strict discipline.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2 Euros worth of Bitcoin | 2017 on: June 09, 2025, 10:52:25 AM
Hello,

If anyone has seen my recent thread, I've been previously trying to recover a friend's account on Coinbase, in which he had a tiny bit of money a few years ago. After recovering the account, the total balance was approximately €200 worth of Bitcoin, which had been bought/sent, doesn't matter, in 2017, for €2, that's approximately a 9900% increase! These are the times we wish we had spent €10 or €20, and now we would have a semi-decent amount of money, not to mention what the results would be with larger amounts of money >€200.

Does anyone have similar experiences?

Did your friend forget his account which is why he was trying to recover it? If so, it’s kind of a blessing in disguise. Because if you forgot your account and only remembered it recently then it’s certain you will end up profiting from bitcoin. This kind of accounts are proof that if you hold bitcoin for a long time, you will end up profitable
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is pro sports bettors for you? on: June 09, 2025, 10:30:19 AM
Instead of calling them professionals I prefer the word experienced. Experience is obtained through consistency and time. What separates us from those that are more experienced is the time and effort they put into it. You can't compare someone who has been betting for 5 years and someone who has two years experience but here's thing, long years of experience doesn't guarantee Profit or winning.
This is a good perspective. Because what does really make a gambler professional? Is it how serious he is in gambling? How much money he is gambling? How often does he gamble? But if we say an experienced gambler, it’s simple. Someone who has been gambling for a long time. That’s it. No need for any further complications.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Pretend entrepreneur epidemic is destroying dreams on: June 09, 2025, 10:09:55 AM
Here's my opinion, someone who pretend like an entrepreneur is an entrepreneur! what they sell are courses, e-books and personal branding. It won't kill them because that's the risk of this niche.

Then we, as an audience, we can easily spot them if they sell courses or e-books, the real entrepreneur will sell their products and they have no time on conference/making contents.
Though I know there are some entrepreneurs who can do both. Maybe their business has gone big to the point that they have more free time to do conferences and guestings because they have employees below them to do their work for them.

But if the only thing they do is do guestings and make speeches but have no successful business to show for then he is not an entrepreneur
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Monitoring the market on: June 08, 2025, 12:38:26 PM
The price of Bitcoin goes up when people least expect it. And it moves down when mainstream are expecting it to blast off. It requires more of patience

The market price for Bitcoin is not easy to guess.
Not at all. The best thing we can do is predict but can we try and predict bitcoin to the last digit? Probably no. If anyone does it I am almost certain that it was just lucky because even with closer analysis we can only generally predict the price.

This volatility is unique to Bitcoin.
Cryptocurrencies are volatile because they rely on supply and demand which fluctuates differently. Bitcoin is not the only volatile one in fact it might not even be the most volatile.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not taking risks can actually be good? on: June 08, 2025, 11:26:16 AM
Can we really avoid taking risks? In our businesses, investments, and every aspect of life, there are risks involved and gambling is no exception. While talking about the negative effects gambling has had on gamblers, we should not always fail to mention the news we've read online and the people in our neighbourhood who have gotten a lifetime opportunity through gambling. People hate gambling because it's too risky and will always paint it black as much as they want.

I will be surprised to see someone who say they can avoid taking risk in almost every aspect of their life. The possibility that we cannot avoid risk forever in life is 100%, it's a certainty. In fact not taking risk is already a risk from my understanding.
Not taking a risk just means staying in your safe zone. There is no risk in that because you are just stuck in one place. Yes you are safe but you will not be progressing. You will be forever in one place while the rest of the world moves ahead of you and past you. You are right no one can avoid having to take risks but if someone keeps trying to they will just end up not progressing beyond the place they should have left a long time ago. At some point they will realize this and finally start taking risks.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tom Lee Predicts $3M BTC — Hopium or Real Talk? on: June 08, 2025, 10:48:21 AM
I think people should first predict $1 million price first before making the next prediction. Bitcoin will be moving towards $60 trillion marketcap before getting to $3 trillion in price.
People get too excited, it happens. There is almost no stopping people from being too optimistic until they get their hopes crushed. Not that what they are saying is impossible. It is just quite unrealistic in the short term. Near future, you will not see bitcoin hitting $3 million but I guess they gotta lock in their predictions quick.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin family shares their secret on: June 08, 2025, 10:31:04 AM
Privacy now, after they have already revealed their secrets of owning Bitcoin, will cost nothing. Being anonymous on the Internet means initially not showing any data about yourself from the moment you appear online. Once you post information, you leave a large trace almost forever, and it is only up to you what you say and what you communicate on your social networks.
Maybe he and his family got too excited and wanted to share everything they have achieved. We know that humans are prone to flexing and wanting to share everything on social media to boast. Good thing is that the father realized that it was only bringing them closer to danger. Better late than never.
10  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think of whenever you heard people mentioned gambler on: June 08, 2025, 10:10:50 AM
Before I started gambling myself, I had this notion that gamblers are wrong kinda people, ones that are bad apples of society that one should stay away from but one day back in 2013 or so, I made my first cricket match bet, and I was like, this it it? This is what I was despising?
It is not really the process of gambling that people despises but rather the result or what it makes of a person. Gambling itself is not dangerous but once a gambler wins or loses that is when it can get dangerous depending on how the person is.

Regarding poll, I have went with 'maybe' — I can't go with simple 'yes' or 'no' because not all gamblers are responsible and not all are irresponsible either (though after voting, I felt 'none of above' seems more proper).
It does seem more proper since it really depends on the person anyway so there is no correct answer.

Thank you for this. I am sure that many of us would appreciate this. I hope many would be able to show their efforts and hard work and benefit from this thread. How many posts are we allowed to link in one post? Here are just two of my own threads.

Can we link replies from different threads as well?
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's good to have a written terms and conditions. on: June 07, 2025, 09:27:00 PM
1: have a jotter, create a gambling terms and conditions by clearly writing them out line by line. Acknowledge that you are doing it to become a disciplined and a responsible gambler.  Read those terms and conditions to yourself everyday and also before you go to gamble, if you continue to practice all that you have written down, with time, it will become a principle that will part of you.
Your title threw me off. Are you making a contract with yourself because that is where terms and conditions are usually applied. What you are saying is just more like goals that you have written. Making a pact with yourself. Anyway, writing these down can help you be reminded of what you want to do so you get stirred away from it.
13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's good to have a written terms and conditions. on: June 07, 2025, 08:59:40 PM
Choose a game to play that you like instead of playing the same game that you only watch when someone is winning just to chase the same win.

This is just an extension on the rule number 3 of yours but it’s important to elaborate further on why need to avoid it.
The explanation is simply you will set other people as a standard and if you do not reach those standards you are going to be disappointed and reach unrealistic expectations.

Lastly, only gamble on your free time. Schedule your gambling on time that doesn’t conflict to your other activities.
If you can't stop yourself from gambling then you might be addicted. You should know your priorities and not let gambling get in the way.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: State currency 1:1 backed by bitcoin on: June 07, 2025, 08:24:34 PM
Quote
State currency 1:1 backed by bitcoin can be used for global adoption.

What state currency are you talking about? The US dollar cannot be backed by BTC, because there's not enough BTC. Do you suggest that all national currencies should be backed by BTC? I can't see this happening in the near future. Backing a fiat currency with a deflationary asset simply won't work in the long term. Sooner or later, such financial system would collapse, because the reserves won't be sufficient to cover the increasing fiat money supply.
We should just let go of the idea of bitcoin somehow replacing fiat. We know that it is not possible mainly because of bitcoin's limited supply. At best, bitcoin will be considered an alternative currency and will be adapted all over the world soon enough. No need to aim for bitcoin to replace fiat.
Quote
The idea that global BTC adoption decreases the price volatility of Bitcoin hasn't been proven. Bitcoin is still as volatile as it used to be years ago. The price volatility of Bitcoin will never decrease.
Some may disagree. Bitcoin is being held by a lot of people now and even if it declines, they will keep holding this is what differentiates bitcoin of today from before. Soon maybe it will be a bit more stable as well
15  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin really decentralised on: June 07, 2025, 08:04:03 PM
Decentralisation means that bitcoin is not controlled by the government or banks..which is fair.

How ever when you think about it, it is not entirely free from fiat and its value has to be tied to fiat.. in this case USD.

Fiat in itself is affected by government policies and banks and so many factors.
You said it yourself. It is only affected by certain factors but there is not one single entity that can actually control bitcoin based on whatever he wishes to do with bitcoin. There is not single point of weakness because miners and traders are all over the world distributed so bitcoin can keep operating. That is what it means to be decentralized regardless of how factors affect it.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin family shares their secret on: June 07, 2025, 07:39:44 PM
The so-called bitcoin family sold their house and basically everything they own down to their shoes back in 2017 to buy bitcoin while it was still trading at $900. Obviously, we can see how that worked out pretty well for them. Now they are traveling with three children while continuing to use bitcoin.

We know how abundant kidnappings are these days just to get crypto which has made a lot of bitcoin enthusiasts worried. Didi Taihuttu, the father of the family, has said that he has changed their entire security setup after receiving some threats.

He said that they ditched their hardware wallets and instead went for part analog and part digital. Their seed phrases are said to be encrypted in encryption services or hidden across four continents.

“We have changed everything,” Taihuttu told CNBC on a call from Phuket, Thailand. “Even if someone held me at gunpoint, I can’t give them more than what’s on my wallet on my phone. And that’s not a lot.”

Right now, he said that the family stopped posting travel updates as well as vlogging due to people identifying his family's location. It really is better to keep a low profile especially if you know you are wealthy. Do you think his system is a smart one?
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great news: big corporations aren't ready for BTC yet on: June 06, 2025, 11:52:17 PM
1. No.
2. Probably not, because I have methods that are tested with time already.
3. When the pros will outweigh the cons in their eyes (which would take a lot of time).
If what they are seeing right now still has not been able to outweigh the cons in their eyes then I do not know what will. Do they want to wait until all is too late? If they want to maximize the benefits of bitcoin, they’d buy and use it now and not wait until everyone has already bought bitcoin.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you think of whenever you heard people mentioned gambler on: June 06, 2025, 11:18:28 PM
So don't be affected on what others are saying, let's put it that way.
That's the thing, but I think it's better if you're private with your gambling activities. I've come to know that the impression people have on gamblers, especially those ones going to physical betting houses are all very negative ones, I don't know if it's worse at my side of the world, and this can tend to affect you more than just as mere comments from them.
Discrimination against gamblers is also very common. Some people make up conclusions, often negative, about a person just because he is a gambler himself. Which is very unfair. This can be often seen among religious communities as they usually do not condone gambling.
Quote
They can spread an ugly news and it might prevent you from getting something of value, let's say a contract or make someone who should believe in your capabilities to become in doubt.
Employers might not employ you for this very reason but if you are responsible enough you will not gamble during work hours so this shall not be a problem.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China banned bitcoin, Again? on: June 06, 2025, 11:05:05 PM
I saw this news on the Altcoinstalk and searched whether this is true, and yes, it looks like every news media outlet posted an article that claims China banned crypto trading, holding, and mining from 31st May 2025. Yet, there is no government ruling that states it is illegal, just like they always do but what's gonna be the impact on the bitcoin now, and it's not just the price perspective.
For now everything is still speculative. You also have to decide whether the news outlets are credible sources or just reporting whatever is trending. Until there’s official announcement from the government that is the only time we should believe but I am sure that this will make investors anxious.
Quote
Irony is that they made it illegal for their citizens to hold, trade, or mine while the government itself is accumulating bitcoin for a while.
We already know that China’s problem with bitcoin is giving away too much freedom to their citizens, but they would still want to use bitcoin and benefit from it.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you take this bet? ;D on: June 06, 2025, 10:46:13 PM
This bet on Formula 1  Grin

In case you're wondering if it's not already a done deal, no, Piastri has 5 wins, so he needs another two for the bet to be won.
Worth it? (Big /S)

If the bet is on Piastri I think the eldest would say no, also because where would the profit be?
If I risk making a senseless bet, I risk with the hope of winning something good, otherwise what could be the point?
Sure it's funny, maybe someone wanted to make their bet anyway?
The way I see it, Piastri is the clear favorite but does it make sense to have the odds at 1.0? Lol. Might as well go bet on someone else and risk it logically and have the chance of winning a much higher profit. Norris is not a bad choice. If he does win more than 7 races, you’ll earn more from betting on him than on Piastri.
