Sure there are people who gamble to pass out time but gambling consecutively without wining is a different situation even those who gamble for fun would get tired of the game because luck seems not to be on their side. But a gambling session where you experience wins and loses is considered fair, even if you loss everything at the end. Mean while on the other some persons gamble to make profit, which is actually the first aim of gambling in the first place, before you develop the passion for some games especially casino games. One of the best ways of discovering those who gamble for fun, they don't gamble with huge amout in one sitting. You cannot be on a losing strike with huge and them claim that you're gambling for fun, it's impossible, you're only deceiving yourself.

Gambling for fun is simple, we place wager on games not for the full intentions of grabbing profits but just to ease away boredom and anticipating in activities that will keep us busy. Common, not all of us depend on gamble as our source of income, rather we keep full aspiration towards other legitimate source and they're dependable. For instance you can not tell or expects a qualified medical doctor to place wager and solely depend on gambling, he has a live with his profession because putting food on the table. I don't believe that and it's very difficult to find people who would be attracted to gambling without the desire to make a profit. All the people I have seen in my area are attracted to gambling solely for the greed of making a profit. In reality, I have not found such a knowledgeable and professional gambler who is only attracted to gambling for fun.

I don't believe that and it's very difficult to find people who would be attracted to gambling without the desire to make a profit. All the people I have seen in my area are attracted to gambling solely for the greed of making a profit. In reality, I have not found such a knowledgeable and professional gambler who is only attracted to gambling for fun.

Or we can simply say that everyone who do get involved on gambling are really that definitely that interested for the sake of money and fun will really be just that in second priority. This is why its really that important that you do really know at least on what are those limitations that had been set. I would like to add, fun gambling is where gambling after we play we do not feel anything that makes us regret, frustrated and so on because we have to accept defeat. Because when gambling when in the end we feel the things I mentioned earlier then gambling is certainly not for fun but to seek victory. I don't know for everyone else, but personally, gambling for fun means that they money in willing to risk isn't going to hurt my butt alot. And when I make wins, I'm happy. And when I loss, I just smile as I was already expecting something like that to happen. There are literally different purposes that drives people into gambling and we can't appropriately say they all do it for profit making. Although the highest number of gamblers are persons that found themselves in it due to money factor. Just an insignificant numbers go in as a means of distraction from some stressful activities just to catch some fun. Most likely yes they already know that gambling will only allow to be used as a place to seek entertainment and not income, they already know that everything that runs based on probability will never make sense to be used as a place to seek income because there is no certainty and guarantee to always be able to achieve victory and that is indeed a fact about how we should treat this activity if we really want to be safe in the long term.

To me one of the best approaches to see gambling as an amusement activity and not to do it for the sake of money is treating our deposit as if it was an "entry" fee, in the same way we are supposed to pay to enter a cinema or a fair. One we pay the entry price, we know the money is gone and we do not expect to get any out of it, beside the experience of gambling.
Sometimes I usually do to train myself to see gambling as something to do for fun is to play on Stake without having a wager (wagering 0$), so I can test my luck without having any kind of risk.
It could be frustrating if I started to experiment a good luck streak with no balance up on place, though, but I see it as a constructive way to train our brains not to have many expectations on gambling from the beginning.

I think you are just going around in circles here, the point is in gambling regardless of what type of gambling it is, there are always gamblers who come for entertainment and gamblers who come to make money, it depends on how their perspective is from the start in responding to gambling and for the type of lottery game I don't think we can just say that everyone plays for entertainment because of course there will always be some gamblers who come with the aim of earning income. On the other hand, talking about addicts I think it is clear that it is a situation where they play to find big and bigger wins by applying greed, there is no gambling for entertainment for them because their main focus is to make as much as possible, and usually they are the losers.
